Prof. Ajay Kumar Sood urgesClimate-Resilient, Community-Driven Water SolutionsGEEF Desk / Green Business World / Updated: Aug 29, 2025, New Delhi, India; The GEEF successfully hosted the Global WaterTech Summit 2025 at ITC Maurya, New Delhi, with the support of Ministry of Jal Shakti, Department of Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation, Government of India. The event, supported by NABARD as Power Partner and WOG as Industry Partner, brought together distinguished leaders, experts, and innovators to deliberate on “Smart and Sustainable Water Infrastructure”. The Summit began with a welcome address by Ms. Parveen Kaur, Addl. Director – Strategy, New Projects, GEEF, who expressed gratitude to the Ministry, NABARD, WOG, and sponsors for their support, while calling for collective action towards developing future-ready water systems. The Chief Guest, Prof. Ajay Kumar Sood, Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India, emphasized the urgent need for universal access to safe water, efficient irrigation and industrial water use, and climate-resilient infrastructure. He highlighted successful international models such as Singapore and Israel while stressing indigenous, community-driven solutions through national water missions. The Guest of Honour, Dr. Syamal Kumar Sarkar, Former Secretary, Ministry of Jal Shakti & Distinguished Fellow, TERI, underlined the looming water scarcity challenge, stressing the need for integrated governance, interlinking departmental silos, and strengthening partnerships with civil society and academia. 
The evening concluded with the GEEF Global WaterTech Awards 2025, recognizing outstanding achievers and innovators in Clean & Waste Water Technology, Innovation, and CSR.
