The geef honored Ms. Asha S. Kartha, Chief General Manager (Safety & Fire Services), Rourkela Steel Plant, Steel Authority of India Limited with prestigious "The GEEF Global HSE Women Leader of the Year 2025" in Steel Sector with a trophy and citation for their exceptional contributions to Health-Safety-Environmental Beliefs, Values, Action & Attitudes in their practices during the Global Clean Energy Summit on Wednesday, 12th February 2025 at JW Marriott Aerocity New Delhi Aerocity, India.
Ms. Asha Kartha is the Head of Safety of a 4.5 MT Hot Metal producing Integrated Steel Plant with a licensed manpower of 25300 employees. She has consistently demonstrated exceptional leadership and unwavering commitment to fostering a culture of safety. Ms. Asha Kartha lead the Safety Cultural Transformation in RSP which has reduced the LTIFR from 0.49 in the year 2021-22 to 0.25 in the year 2023-24 and Zero fatal incident in 2023 & 2024. Ms. Asha Kartha has spearheaded numerous safety training programs, ensuring that every employee, both regular as well as contractual from entry-level workers to senior management, is equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to handle potential hazards effectively. Through her dedication and leadership, has truly transformed the safety culture at RSP plant. Her ability to influence positive change, coupled with her deep understanding of safety practices, has made a lasting impact on the overall safety and well-being of our workforce. Ms. Asha Kartha's achievements serve as an inspiration to others, demonstrating that effective leadership, combined with a genuine care for people’s safety, can create an environment where safety is not just a priority but a way of life.
